2018: Indoor: Maas’ 2018 campaign was focused on sprints. He competed in the 60, 200 and 400-meter dashes. Maas set a personal record at the Air Force Invitational in both the 60-meters with a time of 6.98, finishing in sixth place. He also recorded PR’s in the 200- and 400- meters with times of 21.46 and 47.62 respectively, at the Tyson Invitational in February.
Outdoor:Â Maas competed in the 200 and 400-meter dashes during his 2018 outdoor season. He brought home first place at the Jerry Quiller Classic in March with a time of 48.49 in the 400 meters. At the Mines Kit Mayer Invite, he recorded a personal record in the 200-meters (21.01w) and earned second place.

HIGH SCHOOL: A four-year letterman, Maas successfully ran the 100, 200 and 400-meter dashes for the Cougars and was named Elite All-State in addition placing third in the 400 at the state championship. Maas has also performed well in the 200, placing fourth at New Balance Nationals. He holds individual stadium records for the 400m in the following venues: Alamo Stadium (47.26), Heros Stadium (47.7), Gustafuson Stadium (47.64), and Judson Stadium (47.62). Additionally, he holds school records for the 100 (10.56), 200 (21.61) and 400 (47.15).

PERSONAL: Jon Ryan Maas was born in San Antonio, Texas, and is the eldest of Jon Maas and Marylou Lamborn’s three children. He has two brothers, Jackson and Jordan.
