Track and Field Launches Indoor Season with Split Squads in Golden and Boston

Boulder—The University of Colorado track and field team opens the 2025 26 indoor season this weekend with a split squad, sending a group of sprinters, jumpers, and throwers to Golden for the Mines Alumni Classic while five distance runners compete in Boston at the BU Sharon Colyear Danville Season Opener.
Colorado entered six athletes into the two day Mines Alumni Classic in Golden, with four men and two women scheduled to compete.
Men
• Antonio Votour, 60 hurdles, personal record 8.05. This will be his first indoor race for Colorado. He previously won the Big South indoor title in the 60 hurdles.
• Teagan Malcom, 60 hurdles. The Longmont native will make his collegiate debut.
• Lucas Williams, weight throw, 18.63 meters personal record at the 2025 Riverfront Invitational and Multis. This is his third appearance at the Mines Alumni Classic.
• Johnny Homsy, 60 meters, personal record 6.80 at the 2024 Colorado Invite. This is also his third appearance at Mines Alumni Classic.
Women
• Riley Ward, high jump, 1.76 meters, personal record at the 2025 CU Invitational. This is her second time competing at the Mines Alumni Classic.
• Amanda Opp, weight throw, 18.35 meters, personal record at the 2024 Air Force Holiday Opener. She will compete at Mines Alumni Classic for the third time.
Colorado also entered five athletes in the BU Sharon Colyear Danville Season Opener.

• Jessie Secor, 8:50.63 (Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational, Feb. 14, 2025)
5,000 meters
• Abbey Nechanicky - 16:00.01 PR
Men
3,000 meters
• Isaiah Givens, 7:38. He finished fifth in the mile at the 2025 NCAA indoor championships.
• Dominic Serem, 7:37. He finished fifty eighth at the 2025 NCAA cross country championships.
5,000 meters
• James Overberg, 13:33. He finished seventy fourth at the 2025 NCAA cross country championships.

This year's schedule includes four home indoor meets inside the Ford Practice Facility and one outdoor home meet.

• January 23-24: Colorado Invite
• February 6-7: Colorado Classic
• February 20: Colorado Last Chance Qualifier
