2021: Indoor: Opened up the season with a pair of 200s, then moved up to the 400m ... Helped the Buffs to a 4th place finish in the 4x440yd relay at Championships at the Peak.
Outdoor: Ran a personal best 47.47 in the 400m at the CU Invitational, placing third ... Ran a season best 21.95 in the 200m at CU Invitational, finishing fifth ... Finished season at the PAC-12 Championships, running the 400m.
2020: Indoor: Ran a strong 3:10.96 at the Colorado Invitational, the fourth-best in school history ... Ran 48.64 at the MPSF Championships in the open 400.
Outdoor: Canceled (Coronavirus).
2019: Indoor: Ran a season-best 48.51 at the Colorado Invitational ... Finished the season at the MPSF Championships with a fifth-place 4x400.
Outdoor: Finished second in the 4x400 at the Texas Relays in 3:07.46 ... Was a part of a 40.92 seconds 4x100 at the Colorado Invitational ... Ran a pair of personal bests at the Jack Christiansen Invite with a 21.89 200-meter dash and a 47.64 second 400 ... Finished sixth in the 4x100 and eighth in the 4x400 at the Pac-12 Championships ... Ran at the NCAA Preliminaries in the 4x400 that finished 22nd overall.Â
2018: Indoor: Smith’s indoor season was focused on sprints, and he competed in the 200- and 400-meter dashes. In the 200, he recorded his personal best at the Air Force Invitational in January, clocking in at 22.57 for 16th place. In the 400, Smith earned a personal best here in Boulder at the Potts Invitational in January, crossing the finish line in 48.93 for fifth place.
Outdoor: Smith focused on the 200- and 400- meter dashes during his outdoor season as well. In the 400 he competed quite a few times, and earned his personal best of 48.22 at the Wyoming 7220 Invite in April, placing second. His best time in the 200 was recorded here in Boulder at the Colorado Invitational in April. He clocked in 22.48, earning 12th place.

HIGH SCHOOL: Competing primarily in the 400-meter dash, Smith is the current Douglas County High School record holder in the 400 (48.38) and is part of the 4x800 relay record.

PERSONAL: Kendal Alexander Smith was born in Haward, Calif. He is the son of Jonathan and Dorothy Smith. He has one brother that attends Princeton and competes in fencing.
