Courtney Dunn has the rare combination of size and athleticism and uses that to create tremendous match-up problems with her ability to score from beyond the arc as well as with her back to the basket. Standing 6-4, she can drill the three in transition or take it the length of the floor. Courtney sees the floor like a guard and as a high basketball IQ from playing on one of the most well traveled AAU programs on the West Coast (East Bay Xplosion). Dunn is a junior in eligibility, but a senior in school and is expecting to graduate with her class this spring.
2008-09 (Sophomore-Redshirt): Appeared in 25 games for the Buffaloes, averaging just under 10 minutes per contest. She scored 40 points on the season with nine of her 13 field goals coming from beyond the 3-point arc. Played a season-best 22 minutes in the home game against Missouri (2/28) pitching in five points, four rebounds and two assists. Netted her season high of six points in each of the season's first two games, against UCF (11/16) and Colorado State (11/19), hitting a pair of 3-pointers in each contest. She had nine blocked shots on the season, ranking third on the team.
2007-08 (Freshman-Redshirt): Played in 23 games as a redshirt freshman, solidifying Colorado's depth in the low post. She averaged 2.3 points and just under two rebounds a game while playing key minutes in big games. One of her strongest performances came in Colorado's 62-51 win at No. 20(AP)/ 17(WBCA) Vanderbilt where she scored five points and grabbed five rebounds in 13 minutes against one of the Southeastern Conference's best post players in Liz Sherwood. Dunn played a big supporting role in CU's 59-41 win over Kansas scoring a career-high nine points on 4-of-5 from the field with five rebounds. The five rebounds tied a season best, a mark she reached six different times and three of those instances came against ranked teams: Vanderbilt, No. 19/16 Texas A&M (1/16) and No. 10/10 Oklahoma (2/9).
2006-07 (Freshman): Dunn sat out the 2006-07 season as a redshirt in the Colorado basketball program. She participated in practice and conditioning all season and helped the Buffs prepare for opponents as a scout player.
High School: Dunn is a 2006 graduate of St. Mary's College High School where she is the school's all-time shot block leader. She is a two-time first team All-Bay Shore League selection and was twice named to the second team. Dunn was named first team All-State on three occasions, including a spot on the 2006 Cal-Hi Sports Division IV All-State team. Dunn was a two-time All-East Bay first team selection and a two-time honorable mention to the San Francisco Chronicle All-Metro team. She averaged 10 points and 12 rebounds per game in helping St. Mary's to a 21-13 record and a spot in the CIF Division IV North Coast Section finals and state quarterfinals as a senior in 2006. As a junior she led St. Mary's to a 19-11 record, a second place finish in the Bay Shore League at 10-2 and a spot in the semifinals of the North Coast Section Division IV Tournament. Dunn was ranked the 21st center in the country by All-Star Girls Report, and the 94th ranked player overall.
