Bio
2016-17 (Freshman): Jones played in 12 games as a true freshman, averaging 1.3 rebounds and 1.1 points. She totaled 15 rebounds, 13 points, six blocked shots and five steals, while shooting 4-of-9 from the floor and 5-of-7 at the free throw line on the season. She scored two points and had two rebounds in her first career game, a win at Northern Colorado on Nov. 11. She had season highs of nine points and four rebounds, shooting 2-of-2 from the floor and 5-of-7 at the line in a win over Air Force on Nov. 13. Jones also scored two points at No. 11/12 Oregon State on Jan. 22.
High School: A graduate of Charnwood College, Jones was a member of United Kingdom’s Leicester Riders during her prep career. In two seasons with the Riders, Jones played in 26 games and was one of the team’s top rebounders. During her 2015-16 campaign, she averaged 5.4 points and was third on the team averaging 5.2 rebounds per game. In 2014-15, Jones played in 16 games, recording 4.3 points and 5.0 rebounds a game and also shot an impressive 55.8 percent from the field. In addition to playing for Leicester, Jones has competed on various under-16 and under-18 teams. She was a member of Scotland's U16 European Championship Division C team in 2013, averaging nearly a double-double with 9.8 points and 13.5 rebounds, including 2.0 blocks per game as she earned All-Tournament team honors. As a member of the U-18 European Championship Division B squad for England, Jones averaged 5.0 points and 7.4 rebounds in 2014 and then recorded 6.3 points and 6.1 rebounds per contest in 2015. She was also named Sportsperson of the Year at Charnwood and led the team in points, rebounds and blocked shots.
Academics: Jones is undecided on a major at Colorado, but is interested in photography.
Personal: Eleanor Jones was born on Nov. 25, 1997 in Salisbury, England to Jason Jones and Kathleen Harper. She also has a younger sister Megan Jones. She is ambidextrous.
