2003-04: She played 10 rounds during the fall schedule and was working on a career low 80.3 season strokes per average before having hip surgery during the semester break, forcing her to sit out the spring portion of the season. Until that point six of her 10 rounds went towards the team score and half of her rounds were in the 70s. Her 23rd place finish at the Ron Moore Women’s Intercollegiate was the second best finish of her career and her 37th place finish at the Lady Aztec Invite was her fifth.
2002:03- Stetser opened her sophomore campaign carding a 75-82 in the first two rounds of the Ptarmigan Ram Fall Classic, five strokes ahead of where she was in the same tournament as a freshman and, combined with a third round 75, her total 232 was her second lowest 54-hole tournament. It was a sign of things to come as a week later she carded a collegiate career best 75 in the opening round of the Shanico Invitational in Corvallis, Ore. When all was said and done she shaved almost five strokes from her freshman to sophomore fall strokes average (82.4-77.7). Her spring season was off her fall pace to the tune of three-plus strokes, but she has was a mainstay on the Colorado travel roster and played in her first “postseason” tournament, the Big 12 Championships, were she struggled to find her game and finished 60th.
2001-02: Stetser would play her first three of four tournaments as an individual and average an impressive 79.8 in that scenario before making the travel squad the four of the final five tournaments, contributing to the team score with an 83.5 strokes per tournament round. Her three strongest performances of the year where at the Pioneer Invitational and the spring’s UCLA Bruin Classic and Mountain View Collegiate where she turned in an average 79 in those three tournaments with her best placing, 34th, being in the latter. Her best single round was a 77 three times, including the third round of the season opening Ptarmigan Ram Classic.
High School: The No. 2 ranked prep player in the state of Arizona, Stetser was an All-Desert Valley Region and All-State selection following the 2000 state tournament. She was a contestant in the 2000 Junior World Championship at Torrey Pines and was also the PGA Southwest Section Championship medalist with a 147 effort on the Antelope Hills Golf Course in Prescott, Ariz. A second-team All-Desert Valley Region and All-State performer as a junior, she played to six first-place finishes in dual matches and was the first-place individual representative in the Arizona State Tournament. She had a pair of runner-up efforts in dual matches in ’99 as well as three additional top-10 finishes including a ninth-place finish in the regional tournament. As a sophomore, she finished 32nd in the Arizona State Tournament and was a Bronze Academic Award winner at Shadow Mountain. A multi-sport athlete, Stetser was also a four-year letterwinner, playing the off-guard position, on Shadow Mountain’s Girls’ Basketball Team that advanced to the Arizona State Final Four her freshman season. During the spring season she lettered in track, running the short hurdles.
Other: Following graduation she finished first in the Wille Low Invitational at the Phoenix Country Club carding a 77. She hit 81-77-80 to finish eighth in the Antiguia Milt Coggins Stroke Play Tournament in Phoenix before finishing first in both the Thunderbird Junior Invitational and Ping Match Play.
Best Career Round In Competition: 71, Karesten Golf Course, Tempe, Ariz.
In The Classroom: Stetser is a psychology major going into her senior season.
