SENIOR (2018): Cox played and started in all 20 games. She recorded 44 points for the second time in her career, totaling 32 goals and 12 assists, and was fourth on the team in all three of those categories. She attempted 59 shots, 47 of which were on goal, for a 79.7 shots on goal percentage. During the season, Cox scored three or more goals in four games and had two games with multi assists. She scored at least one point in 17 contests. The campaign started off with Cox tallying two goals and two assists against Michigan on Feb. 9. She had a huge game on March 4 against No. 19 Virginia Tech, scoring a season-high four goals. She also added one assist and two ground balls as the Buffs defeated the Hokies 18-3. In the first-ever Pac-12 Conference game, Cox helped the Buffs come from behind to defeat Stanford, 18-16, on March 9 with three goals, one assist and two ground balls. The attacker continued to provide much-needed offense for the Buffs down the stretch and in the final game of the season, a 13-9 loss to Florida in the second round of the NCAA Tournament, she scored three goals on four shots on goal. A strong student in the classroom, she was selected to the Pac-12 All-Academic Second Team and was named to the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll.
 
JUNIOR (2017): Cox established herself as an offensive leader at her position of low attack. She started in 19 out of 20 games and finished the season with a career best 44 points, the fifth most points on the team. Cox recorded 27 goals, 17 assists, 10 groundballs, and four caused turnovers. She took 48 shots with 35 on goal. She had the second most assists on the team and with two assists in five games; she was third on the team for most multi-assist games. In addition to her passing abilities, Cox persisted as a goal scorer for the Buffs. She scored one goal in the season opener against No. 9 Northwestern to help give the Buffs their largest lead of the game, and come out with an overtime win and first victory over a ranked team. Cox had her first standout game of the season against UC Davis on Feb. 26 where she recorded four goals, two assists, one groundball and one caused turnover. The junior was a consistent finisher on offense for Colorado, going on a five-game scoring streak where she amassed a total of 20 points in wins against Denver (3), Marquette (2), Penn State (2), Winthrop (4), Oregon (6) and Fresno State (2). Cox’s two goals in the game against No. 6 Penn State on March 12 facilitated another the Buffalo victory against a top-10 team. In the conference matchup against Oregon on March 19, she had a career best five goals, scoring three in a row in the first half to help beat the Ducks 16-11 for their ninth straight win. Cox did not let up entering the post-season. She had two goals, one assist and one groundball in the MPSF Conference Championship against USC on April 30 and closed out the season with an assist and one groundball in the first round of the NCAA Tournament against Massachusetts on May 12. Her efforts earned her a spot on the All-MPSF Second Team and she was also named to the MPSF All-Academic Team for the second year in a row.
 
SOPHOMORE (2016): Cox played a key role in CU’s big offensive season as she started all 18 games as an attacker and scored 26 goals and had 13 assists for 39 points. She also attempted 40 shots, including 36 on goal. She added 11 ground balls, three caused turnovers and one game-winning goal. She finished second on the team in assists, third in points and fifth in goals scored. Cox was consistent all season and was the only Buff to record a point in each of the team’s 18 games. She scored two goals in an 18-4 win over Fresno State on Feb. 21. She also scored twice in a 10-8 win at Marquette on Feb. 28, following that up with three goals in a 15-14 overtime win against James Madison on March 3. She also had two ground balls each in those two games. Cox scored twice and assisted on another goal in a 15-3 win over Central Connecticut on March 5, starting a string of four straight games with at least one assist. She matched her season high with three goals and an assist for four points on March 21 in a 19-4 win against Marist. Cox recorded her third hat trick of the year with three scores, including the game-winner, and two ground balls in a 14-3 win at UC Davis on April 1. She matched her season high with four points off two goals and two assists in a 14-9 win in a 14-9 win at Oregon to wrap up the regular season on April 24. Cox also had two-goal games against No. 12/10 Stanford, Saint Mary’s (Calif.) and Oregon (in the MPSF semifinals). She earned MPSF All-Academic honors as well.
 
FRESHMAN (2015): Cox played in all 18 games and started in 17, completing a stellar freshman season with the Buffs. She led the team with 21 assists, ranking seventh in the MPSF in assists per game (1.17). With a total of seven goals and her 21 assists she finished with 28 points, ranking sixth on the team. Cox had a season-high four assists in a 21-5 win over Saint Mary's (Calif.) on April 17. She had two assists six times during the year, all coming in wins against New Hampshire, Michigan, UMass Lowell, UC Davis, Oregon and San Diego State. Cox had at least one point in each of the first 13 games of the season, with eight multi-point games during the streak. She also had a streak of seven straight games with at least one assist from March 17, ending on April 19. She had a season-high four ground balls in a win over Fresno State on April 24 and finished with 18 for the season. For the season, Cox had 10 multi-point games and seven multi-assist games.
 
HIGH SCHOOL: Cox excelled in all three sports she played at Bay Shore High School. She recorded over 300 points in her prep lacrosse career, helping the Marauders to three Suffolk County Championships (in 2010, ’11 and ’13) and the 2012 Long Island Championship. As a freshman, she won her team’s Unsung Hero Award. In her final three seasons, Cox received all-county and Scholar-Athlete awards, helping Bay Shore to a 44-9 record during that span. Cox also competed with the Long Island Yellow Jackets lacrosse club from 2010-14. Cox lettered three seasons as an outside hitter for the Bay Shore volleyball team, earning all-league honors in her final two seasons. She was also all-county as a junior and all-classification and MVP as a senior, setting a single season dig record. In four years with the basketball team, Cox played both point and shooting guard and earned all-league and MVP honors in back-to-back seasons. She also excelled academically, earning a spot on the honor as a sophomore and junior and the high honor roll as a senior.

PERSONAL: Carly Cox was born on December 15, 1995, to parents Timothy and Eileen Cox. Her father played lacrosse at SUNY Cortland, and her brother Kevin played lacrosse at Manhattan College. Cox enjoys going to the beach and playing basketball and volleyball. Her favorite movie is Forgetting Sarah Marshall and her favorite team is the New York Jets. Cox chose Colorado because of the opportunity to be a part of a new program. She says CU has everything she was looking for academically, spiritually and athletically.
