COACH ELLIOTT ON GROSS: “I have known Weezie since she was in grade school and attended Amonte Sports Camps in Boston. Weezie is a determined player who plays hard all over the field and isn’t afraid to do the little things. Weezie fits in very well with our Colorado style of play and we are excited to have her in our program.”
HIGH SCHOOL: Gross was a four-year letterwinner in three different sports at Andover. In lacrosse, she was an All Star and a two-time All-Conference selection. She also played for the Mass Elite club lacrosse team for seven years. Gross helped the field hockey team to back-to-back state championships in 2010 and 2011. As a sophomore she was an All Star. She earned All-Conference honors her final two seasons and was the league’s MVP as a senior. Evensen was played forward with the Andover hockey team.
IN THE CLASSROOM: Gross is an open option major.
PERSONAL: Louisa Barrett Gross was born on March 1, 1996 to parents Steven and Christine. She has two sisters who also play collegiate lacrosse. Briana plays at Bates College, and Cat plays at UConn. Her nickname is Weezie. When not playing lacrosse, Gross enjoys reading, cooking and baking. Her favorite foods are peanut butter and cereal.
