FRESHMAN (2014): Salvadore played in seven games as a freshman, facing one ranked opponent and one MPSF foe. She took one free-position shot and scooped up two ground balls. She made her Colorado debut at Jacksonville, grabbing her first collegiate ground ball in the game.
COACH ELLIOTT ON SALVADORE: "Melissa is more of a defensive minded player. Her attitude and excitement for the game give her limitless potential at the next level. We are really excited Melissa decided to come to CU to continue her lacrosse career and look forward to having her family in our program."
HIGH SCHOOL: As a three-year varsity lacrosse starter at Monroe Township, Salvadore scored 34 goals, contributed 22 assists and had 87 ground balls. In her first year with the team, she was named the most improved player. She was a two-time second-team All-GMC selection as a sophomore and junior. She was her team’s captain and a first-team All-GMC selection her senior season. Salvadore spent two seasons with the Tri-State Lacrosse - Blue club. She was named the team's MVP at the Richmond, Va. Tournament. Salvadore was also the captain of the Monroe Township dance team her junior and senior years.
IN THE CLASSROOM: Salvadore's major is integrative physiology.
PERSONAL: Melissa Anne Salvadore was born January 30, 1995 to Richard and Anna Salvadore. Her twin Amanda is also a member of the Buffaloes. She enjoys playing the piano, dancing, creating ceramics and listening to Dave Matthews Band. Her favorite books are the Twilight saga. She is fan of the New York Yankees and Derek Jeter. She was the class council secretary her junior and sophomore years. She chose CU for the atmosphere and diverse lifestyle. Salvadore wants to become a physical therapist after graduation.
