FRESHMAN (2004): Brown made 11 appearances as a sophomore for the Buffs, helping on the back line. She was on the field for 132 minutes, including a season-high 35 against Eastern Michigan on Sept. 4.
HIGH SCHOOL: Brown sat out her senior season at Heritage, which reached the state semi-finals, as she rehabilitated a torn ACL suffered at the Disney Showcase Tournament in December (2003), a tournament the Colorado Rush and coach Paul Bravo won. Under high school coach Tony Hurt, her Heritage High School team advanced to the 2003 5A Colorado State semi-finals and were the Continental League runners-up her junior season. She was an honorable mention all-state performer as a freshman and sophomore before earning first-team all-state and league recognition following her junior season. On the club side she was a member of the 2001 Regional Pool, Team and National Pool, attended the 2000-03 Regional Camp, was a member of the 2000-03 ODP Team and ODP Pool, and advanced to the 2002 ODP Regionals and Nationals. Brown was lured by Stanford, Rice and Miami before signing with Colorado.
IN THE CLASSROOM: An honor roll student all four years of high school, and 2004 Golden Honor Roll student, Brown was also a member of the 2003 and '04 National Honor Society and the French National Honor Society as a junior. As a sophomore she received Heritage’s Academic Excellence Award. She will come to Colorado as an open option major, but is interested in architecture.
PERSONAL Born June 13, 1986 in Los Gatos, Calif., Aubree Leigh Brown is the youngest of William and Tina Brown’s two daughters. Her older sister, Regan, will be a junior business major on the Boulder campus this fall.
