Junior (2000): Following the season-opening injury to gameday starter Whitney Peterson, Bassett saw action in seven games, starting six, earning a shutout against Colorado College in a 3-0 Buffalo win. She allowed just eight goals and pulled in 44 saves for a 1.19 goals against average, leading the three Buffalo keepers. In a 1-0 loss to USC, Bassett’s first action of the season, she pulled in 12 saves on 29 shots. She established a career high for single game saves when she grabbed 14 in a 3-2 overtime loss to Texas.

Sophomore (1999): Bassett got her first collegiate nod in goal in the season opener against Kansas, and solidified her starting position as the number one keeper for the rest of the season. The 2-1 win marked the first time the Buffs had won a season opener. She played a total of 1,738 minutes and owned a record of 10-7-1, including an impressive 9-1-1 at home. She notched her first career shutout during the home opener, a 3-0 win against Alabama-Birmingham on Sept. 3. Bassett earned five shutouts on the season, including three against three against in-state rivals (Colorado College 1-0, Air Force 2-0, and Denver 1-0) and Big 12 opponent Texas Tech (1-0). This tied the Buff record for shutout wins in a season, as Sloane Cox tallied five shutouts in 1998. Bassett also put her name in the CU history books as she played a record 281 minutes without allowing a goal. Bassett made 144 saves on 345 total shots faced. She ended the season with a save percentage of .791 and a goals-against average of 1.97. Bassett pulled in a then-career high 13 saves during the 2-1 win against the Utah. She also contributed to the Buffs’ offense, notching her first collegiate assist in the 3-0 shutout win over UAB. She punted the ball past midfield to Melissa Cartmell who dribbled down field and scored for just the second time in CU history.

Freshman (1998): Bassett saw little playing time as she played understudy to graduated senior Sloane Cox, a 1998 all-Big 12 selection. She saw action in three games, recording six saves on seven shots in 42 minutes for Colorado. During a tight match against Oklahoma State, Bassett replaced an injured Cox and preserved a 1-1 tie.

High School: A four-year letterwinner for Foothill at keeper, Bassett was an Umbro/NSCAA Far West first team member following her senior season, which saw her record 11 shutouts in 18 games and a 0.31 goals-against average. She was a first-team all-Tri-County Athletic League selection as a junior an senior, and was an honorable mention all-league pick her sophomore year. She served as her team’s co-captain her final two years as a prep. Foothill was recognized as the No. 5 team in the country and the top team in California following a 19-1-2 1997 season which culminated in a North Coast Section CIF championship, a title push led by Bassett, who shut out all five of Foothill’s opponents in the playoffs. Foothill followed the same path her senior season, as the team finished the year with a 15-3 overall mark, advancing to the North Coast CIF semifinals. As a junior, Bassett allowed just 0.85 goals per game and registered eight shutouts. She also scored a goal and had two assists in some limited action outside the net as a senior for Foothill. Bassett served as captain for the AC Premier club team and coach Fritz Scharff. Bassett was a prep standout off the field as well, serving as senior class president and the sports editor of the yearbook. She was a member of the California Scholastic Federation, and earned honor roll mention in four semesters.
