Freshman (2001): Bickley appeared in 14 games and made six starts at forward for the Buffs, scoring one goal with a team-high four assists. She then had two assists in the following game, a 2-2 draw with No. 9 Texas A&M.
High School: Bickley was a two-year letterwinner at Quince Orchard High School in Bethesda, Md., under head coach Louis Arce before transferring to Columbine for her final two years under head coach Peter Horvath. At Quince Orchard she played with incoming freshman Kelley Smullen in 1997 and ‘98. She made the all-county team her sophomore year and was second team all-county her freshman year. Bickley was on the Maryland Olympic Developmental team both her freshman and sophomore years. Bickley was on the county championship team in Maryland her freshman year. Bickley played for the Bethesda Scorpions of Bathesda, Md., her freshman, sophomore and senior seasons, extending the club’s state cup streak to 10 straight. Her Columbine team were state finalists her junior year. She also played for the Littleton United club team her junior year and the Colorado Storm club team prior to her senior year, playing in the Raleigh (N.C.) Shootout and Washington Area Girls Soccer (WAGS) Tournaments. Midway through her senior campaign she missed six games after spraining her right LCL during the Dakota Ridge game. She still scored five goals on the year before Columbine lost to Fort Collins in the first round of the state tournament. She played junior varsity basketball and cross-country her freshman year, winning both Johns Hopkins Invitational and the MCPS cross-country races. Bickley chose Colorado over Wyoming, Iowa, Arkansas State and American University because she loves the mountains and the weather. She said that she has always wanted to attend CU.
Personal: Born May 14, 1982, in Grand Junction, Colo., Danielle (Dani) Nicole Bickley is the daughter of Joe and Carolyn Bickley. Bickley’s hobbies include snow skiing and other outdoor related activities. Bickley is the second current player on the team from Columbine High School, joining CU junior forward Lindsey Galas. After moving to Colorado, she remained best friends with incoming teammate/classmate Kelley Smullen. The two still play club ball together in Maryland.
In The Classroom: She is undecided on a major and is enrolled in Colorado’s School of Arts & Sciences.
