Junior (2001): Hansen made three appearances as a defender during her junior season.
Sophomore (2000): Hansen saw action in one game, coming in during the second half of play in a 4-0 score to Nebraska.
Freshman (1999): Hansen joined the team after the team’s fall preseason training as a walk-on. Saw action in one game, against Nebraska.
High School: A four-year letterwinner for head coach Nate Shotts, Hansen earned all-state honors as a junior and senior at Mullen. She was also a member of the Olympic Development Program for Colorado as a freshman and a sophomore. Mullen won the 4A state soccer championship Hansen’s junior year, and took second her senior year. She lettered twice in swimming at Mullen and earned a spot on the state team as well. Hansen was a four-year honor roll member at Mullen, and also earned the Good Citizenship Award and was a Teacher’s Assistant. She also considered attending Cornell College, Colorado State and Arizona State.
Personal: Born July 11, 1981, in Denver, Colo., she is the daughter of Jeff and Mary Hansen. Her father was a collegiate athlete, and her uncle, John Gausman, played basketball for the University of Northern Colorado from 1965-67. Her cousin, Allison Gausman, was a former teammate of Hansen’s during the 1999 and 2000 season. She lists the greatest moment of her high school career as Mullen’s state championship in 1998. Hansen’s hobbies include skiing and swimming.
In The Classroom: Hansen is the team’s lone foreign language major, studying Spanish in Colorado’s College of Arts & Sciences.
