Junior (2007): Gorman played in 18 matches and started eight times for the Buffs in her first season in Boulder. She four shot attempts in 891 minutes.
At Tennessee: Completed her freshman season second on the Lady Vol squad with 22 points on seven goals and eight assists. Was chosen by Soccer Buzz as a third-team Freshman All-America as well as a third-team All-Central Region choice and was named to the Soccer Buzz Central Region All-Freshman squad. Named as the SEC co-Freshman of the Year as well as a member of the conference’s All-Freshman team after tying for second in assists (eight) and for ninth in goals (seven) in the league. Scored the match-winning goal to beat Vanderbilt 1-0 in the SEC Tournament semifinals. Dished assists on goals by Lockaby and Redberg in a 2-0 triumph over Kentucky in the first round of the SEC Tournament. Named as the Southeastern Conference Offensive Player of the Week (10/11) for her efforts against Alabama and LSU. As a sophomore at UT she was the team’s second leading scorer with four goals and eight assists, including three gamewinners and was named First Team All-SEC.
High School: Was a four-time letterwinner in soccer at Wheat Ridge High School, captaining the squad during her final season, when the team finished 12-4 overall and advanced to the opening round of the Class 5A tournament. Earned her four-straight All-Conference accolades in the Jeffco League and was selected to compete in the McDonald’s High School All-American Game. Led her team in scoring each season of her prep career. Collected honorable mention all-state kudos as a sophomore and senior and was an All-Colorado pick during her junior campaign. Was a member of the Colorado Rush club team that captured the prestigious Disney Tournament in December 2003. She was part of the Rush team that won the National Championships when they were U15 and took third place in 2005. She also earned varsity letters in both cross country and track during her freshman year and collected all-conference honors in track.
Personal: Genna Drew Gorman was born May 1, 1986, in Denver, Colo. Her parents are Celestina Testolin and mark Gorman. Has an older sister, Ashley, 23.
