Freshman (2002): Kindschi made one appearance as a freshman, attempting two shots in a season-opening win over Fresno State on Aug. 30.

High School: A four-year letterwinner in soccer for head coaches Tino Younger and Hamid Sedehi, she was a Second-Team All-Sunset League and Coaches Award winner following the Viking's California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) quarterfinals her sophomore sea­son. Her CRCS Infinity club team was the Far West Regional and CUSA-S National State Cup Champions and Nomads Umbro College Show­case finalists in 1999. They played in the San Diego Surf Cup and Olympic Development Pro­ gram District 3 State Pool that same season. A year later they played in the WAGS Tournament, NIKE San Diego Girls Surf Cup, Houston Shootout Tournament and Surf Cup and was the CYSA-S National State Cup Finals. Her junior year Infinity repeated its appearances at WAGS, Surf Cup, Nomads, CYSA-S, Houston and Surf Cup while adding the So.Cal United Tournament and CRSC Memorial Challenge Cup champnioship trophies to the case. Kindschi also lettered in field hockey, earning varsity letters her freshman through senior seasons, assuming captain responsibilities her junior and senior years.  As a freshman in the sport she was named the team MVP, and was voted the best offensive player and First-Team All­-Sunset League as a sophomore. As a junior she was named to the all-tournament team of the Orange County Invitational, Los Angeles Field Hockey Association and Tournament of Champions while Marina repeated its league title. Kindschi made a campus visit to Oregon prior to committing to Colorado. She attended camp in 2001 and while she always had an interest in attending Duke, found the best of both worlds in Bill Hempen and Colorado.

In The ClassroomA member of the intercultural Club, Principal's Honor Roll and an academic excellence award recipient at Marina, she will enter the academic ranks at Colorado as an open option major, but is interested in veterinary medicine. She was a member of the Spanish club as a prep student.

Personal: Heather Marie Kindschi was born Jan.17, 1984, in Long Beach,Calif. She is the daughter of Ron (a former member of the United States National Rugby Team) and Joyce (a former ESL teacher to Mexican and Vietnamese school children) of Hunting­ton Beach, Cailf. Her older sister Jennifer is a junior at the University of San Diego. Her community service work includes working with the National Charity League, Oak View Community Center (food baskets), Orangewood Children's Center (making quilts), Huntington Beach Main Library, a local soup kitchen.
