During her junior season with the Chicago Sockers, Heil made the Daily Herald All-Area Team, NW Herald All-Area Second Team, Olympic Developmental State Team, and was honored as the Pioneer Press Athlete of the Week, and was the Hoffman Estates Tournament Most Valuable Player. As a seasoned senior, she co-captained Jacobs to the Fox Valley Conference and Regional titles before bowing out of the state tournament in the Elite Eight round with a 22-4-2 season mark. With four goals and a dozen assists she was an All Fox Valley Conference pick as well as team MVP. She also repeated her All-Area title in all three daily publications. In student council she served as sophomore class treasurer, junior class treasurer, and was executive board treasurer her senior year. Heil earned a spot on a local team, the Rockford Dactyls, where she started one game. She was also recruited by Texas, Texas A&M, and Baylor.
