Bio
SOPHOMORE (2004): Ceresino made five appearances and played 166 minutes as a sophomore. She saw a season-high 57 minutes of action twice, first on Sept. 2 against San Diego, and again vs. Utah on Sept. 12.
FRESHMAN (2003): Ceresino came off the bench in 17 games as a member of the most productive offense in Colorado history. She first added to that distinction when she assisted on Katie Griffin’s first of two goals against Georgia in the season opening weekend and a week later she netted her first career score at then-No. 9 Denver. Her lone point the rest of the season was an assist on an Ellen Falender score against Kansas. During the spring season she netted CU’s second goal at Pepperdine to preserve the 2-0 shutout.
HIGH SCHOOL: A varsity letterwinner for the Falcons during her freshman (where she was the team’s leading scorer) and senior seasons, she was elevated to the varsity team for the CIF playoffs both seasons with Torrey Pines coming out as CIF Champions as well as Palomar League Champions in ’03. A six-year member of the San Diego Surf Soccer Club, she was a member of teams that were National State Cup champions and WAGS finalists in 1998 and semifinalists a year later, regional finalists in ’98 and finalists in ’99, Pleasanton champions in 2000 and in 2002, Summer Surf and Blues Cup champs. In 1996 she played for the Escondido FC Heat and was the Heat’s leading scorer. She held the same distinction in ’95 when she played for Scripps United.
IN THE CLASSROOM: The 3.5 gpa prep student is a pre-journalism major at Colorado where she turned in a near-Dean’s List effort of 3.4 last spring and will carry a better than 3.0 gpa into her sophomore season.
PERSONAL: Jessica Lauren Ceresino was born Jan. 18, 1985 in San Diego. She is the only daughter of former San Francisco 49ers linebacker Gordy Ceresino of San Diego and Debbie Mackenzie, a second-grade teacher, of San Diego. Her uncle (Joe Belch) attended graduate school at CU and her paternal grandfather, Ray Ceresino, was one of the original members of the Toronto Maple Leafs. Off the pitch, she tutored local elementary school students as part of Torrey Pines’ Study Buddies Program. After college she would like to spend time on the east coast, preferably New York City.
