SENIOR (2005): Grandinetti wrapped up her CU career with a strong season starting all 24 games to lead the Buffs to the second round of the NCAA Tournament and the Big 12 Tournament final. She finished the year with three goals and six assists for 12 points and attempted 25 shots. Her first assist came against Nebraska on Sept. 23 and she followed that up with two more in the following game, a 4-0 win over Iowa State on Sept. 25. She also added a pair of helpers in a 3-2 win against Missouri on Oct. 14. She caught fire late in the season, scoring three goals in a four-game stretch in late-October and early-November. Her first came at No. 14 Texas A&M on Oct. 21. She scored in back-to-back games on Oct. 28 at Texas Tech and Nov. 2 vs. Oklahoma in the Big 12 Tournament quarterfinals, the latter being the game-winner. She also had an assist in the semifinals on the overtime winner vs. Texas and was named to the Big 12 All-Tournament team. She finished her career ranked first all-time in assists per game (0.33) and second in total assists (21).
JUNIOR (2004): For a second straight season, Grandinetti led the team in assists with six and consecutive assist matches with feeds against LSU, Denver and Iowa State. Two of those set up gamewinning goals, including Ashlie Mihalcin’s gamewinner at Iowa State and Katie Griffin’s against Northern Colorado. Her single score on the season was off a Jen Thais rebound against Oklahoma for the putback in the 52nd minute. She also paired up with Fran Munnelly for scores in back-to-back games against LSU and Denver. Her junior season came to an abrupt end in the 24th minute of CU’s Big 12 Tournament quarterfinal match against Missouri when she was clipped from behind by the Tigers’ Lacy Moore and tore her left ACL. Her half dozen assists was ninth in the league and her assists per game were also fifth in all games and sixth in both categories in Big 12 only matches.
SOPHOMORE (2003): Grandinetti was the most productive of the transfers with 4 goals, a school single season and sophomore class 9 assists and 17 points in her first season. A starting outside forward, she had a pair of gamewinners on the season, at New Mexico and against Minnesota and was credited with the assist on four other game winning scores. She has a strong long serve, and has used it twice to set up CU scores. She combined with freshman Katie Griffin on four goals.
AT KENTUCKY: With a single goal and assist (both vs. Indiana) during Kentucky’s 11-9 season, she was the team’s ninth-leading scorer with three points. The Wildcats advanced to the 2002 NCAA tournament and dropped a 1-0 decision to then-No. 22 Cincinnati in the championships’ opening round in Knoxville, Tenn.
HIGH SCHOOL She was named to the Denver Post Best of the Best All-Colorado Team after a 47-point season as a sophomore (2000) and a 37 point output as a junior (2001) and was a 4A all-state performer as a junior and 5A all-state pick as a senior by both the Post and Rocky Mountain News. Her junior year she was also tabbed the All-Aurora/All-City Player of the Year by the Aurora Sentinel. Playing for the Colorado Rush turned Colorado Girls Soccer Academy, she was a member of the only club in Colorado to win seven straight state cup titles. She was also a member of the Colorado Select Team.
