CU Club Team: She enrolled at Colorado in the fall of 1995. Quijada chose Colorado because of the environment and its academic reputation. She was also on CU's national title winning club team.
High School: Earned four letters while attending the University of San Diego High School where she was coached by Butch Lee. Quijada, a defensive stalwart, was her team's Freshman of the Year in 1992, was named the MVP of the 1992 Bonita Vista Tournament, and was named the team's Most Inspirational Athlete in 1994. Her team won an incredible four straight CIF state titles during her tenure. The university's tremendous success didn't go unnoticed by college scouts, as five of Quijada's teammates currently play for Division I teams around the country.
Personal: Majoring in geology, Quijada was born April 27, 1976, in Metiree, La. Her parents are Frank and Barbara Quijada of Arlington, Va. Her hobbies include skiing, biking, hiking and tennis. Her full name is Kimberly May Quijada.
