Bio
Senior (2000): Ellenberger made four starts and eight appearances as a defender during her senior season. She had three shot attempts, including two in a 1-0 win at Kansas, her final start and appearance of the season.
Junior (1999): Ellenberger started eight times and was on the field in 15 of the team's 20 games as a defender. She had one shot attempt on the season and started the final eight games of the year.
Sophomore (1998): Saw action in eight games, including five of the last six. Her continued efforts during the season came to fruition when she recorded the game-winning assist against Kansas in Big 12 play on Oct. 30. Her cross to Melissa Cartmell with less than 15 minutes remaining in the match netted the game-winning goal, the first CU goal in six games.
Freshman (1997): Recorded an assist and a shot in 11 games on the season, emerging midway through the campaign as one of the Buffs' first players off the bench.
High School: A three-year member of the girls' soccer team for head coach Chris Blackburn and Grand Junction, Kyley was primarily a defender, registering a goal and an assist as a sophomore and a goal as a junior. She was a standout in the classroom, earning an academic letter at Grand Junction and participating in the school's chapter of the National Honor Society for two years. She also received Grand Junction's Presidential Award, was a member of the honor roll, and was a member of Who's Who for two years. Grand Junction's soccer team was 34-6- 3 during her career.
Personal: Born February 16, 1979, in Grand Junction, Kyley is undecided on her major but is attending classes in CU's College of Arts and Sciences. Her hobbies include camping, hiking and mountain biking, as well as "any athletic activity." She played on a team that represented Colorado abroad and won the Dana Cup Championship in Denmark and took sixth place in the Gothia Cup Championship in Sweden. Her twin sister, Rachel, joined her in committing to Colorado in the spring of 1997.
