Freshman (2007): Kawa did not see any game action as a freshman.

High School: Kawa and the Hinsdale Devils won the Illinois State Championship in 2005 and 2006, but was forced to sit out her senior year with an injury. Kawa lettered in soccer her sophomore, junior and senior season and was the leading scorer her freshman year. Kawa also played basketball in high school for one season, she led the state in scoring. Kawa played her club ball for the Chicago Magic, who were 2005 USYSA Region Il quarterfinalists and six time state cup champions.

In the Classroom: Kawa, the editor of the yearbook in high school, is undecided on her major at the University of Colorado, but is favoring pursuing a degree in physical therapy.

Personal: The daughter of Joseph and Kimberly Kawa, Madeline Rae Kawa was born Aug. 30, 1989 in Hinsdale, Ill. She has an older sister and a younger brother, Alexandra is a student at the University of Iowa and Garrett plays football and baseball for his high school.
