JUNIOR (2008): Sat out her junior campaign due to a knee injury suffered prior to the season.
SOPHOMORE (2007): White started seven of the 12 games that she appeared in for the Buffaloes during her sophomore campaign, serving as one of the first defensive reserves off the bench.
FRESHMAN (2006): White saw action in 22 games in her first year at CU, starting the first 12 before coming off the bench for her final 10 appearances. Was a significant contributor in the defense, playing almost every minute while in the starting role. Was one of seven freshmen to earn multiple starting nods.
HIGH SCHOOL: White was a champion in both club and high school soccer for four years. Her Mountain Vista High School Golden Eagles squad won the 2005 5A State Championship, while her Real Colorado club side has won the state cup championship three times (2002, 2004, 2005). The 2005 Real state cup team was also Region IV finalists under coach Lorne Donaldson. White was a four-year letterwinner under coach Theresa Echtermeyer at Mountain Vista, serving as team captain for three years and earning offensive MVP honors as a sophomore. After leading the Golden Eagles to a 15-2-2 record and a State semi-final finish, White earned first team All-League and second team All-State honors. As a freshman, sophomore and junior, she was been a Continental League Honorable Mention selection for the Golden Eagles.
IN THE CLASSROOM: White is an English and Spanish major at Colorado. In high school, she wass a member of the National Honor Society and has earned four academic letters in addition to earning a National English Merit Award. She pulled off a perfect 4.0 in her first semester at CU and has been a Big 12 Commissioner's honor roll every semester.
PERSONAL: Mary Shannon White was born Sept. 26, 1987 in Columbus, Miss. She is the daughter of Ben and Kim White, and has two younger sisters in Emily (19) and Susannah (15). She has made two mission trips to West Virginia and also is a Link Leader and is active in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
