HIGH SCHOOL: Down was a three year letterwinner at San Pasqual High School under coach Lisa Brown. As a senior, she captained her team to a 24-1-1 record with 15 shutouts, wining the Valley League championship and the San Diego CIF Championship. They were 11-0-1 in league play, allowing just two goals. Down was named second team All-Valley League and was the team’s MVP. As a junior her team was 19-6-1 and won the Valley League as well.
IN THE CLASSROOM: Down is undecided on her major at Colorado. She is a three time Scholar Athlete honor winner, as well as a two time Union-Tribune Scholastic team member. She was also a four-year Dean’s List member.
PERSONAL: Megan Elizabeth Down was born September 7, 1988 in Escondido. She is the daughter of David and Patricia Down, and is the youngest of four kids. She has two brothers, Patrick (24) and Will (22) and a sister Mary (20). Will is a junior at CU, and part of the reason she chose Colorado was his experience at the University. She loves to fish and is learning to fly fish, a skill that will come in very handy in Colorado. She has volunteered at voting polls, as well as Assisteens and her church youth group.
