Her lone goal, and points, of the season was a shot from the top of the box that went high over Denver keeper Erica Izard, who was diving right in an attempt to make the save. A pre-existing tendon strain in her right wrist forced her to wear a hard cast most of the season. She was a first-team Academic All-Big 12 for a third straight season.

Sophomore (2000): Swanzy started all 19 games of the season, scoring a pair of goals on 30 shots including the game-winner against Central Connecticut. Her four points was the fifth most productive on the team.

Redshirt Freshman (1999): Starting all 20 games, Swanzy made a huge impact on the central midfield in her first season at CU. She notched two goals and one assist for a total of five points on the year. Both goals were game-winners, with her first collegiate goal coming against Alabama-Birmingham and second against Oklahoma State. Swanzy tallied 31 total shots this year with 14 shots on goal putting her fourth and third on this season's lists respectively. She was a first-team Academic All-Big 12 selection.

Freshman (1998): Did not play. Redshirted due to a bout with mononucleosis.

High School: Swanzy was an honorable mention all-Colorado selection as a junior, when she and Green Mountain won the state championship She earned honorable mention all-state and firstteam all Jefferson County League honors her senior year, when Green Mountain advanced to the state quarterfinals. Green Mountain also made it to the state semifinals during Swanzy's sophomore campaign. She was a member of the Lakewood Fury and was with the team during its 1995-97 state championships. The Fury advanced to the U.S. Soccer Far-West Regionals (Region IV) all three of those years as well, winning the regional and placing fourth in the nation in 1997, losing in the regional finals in 1996 and semifinals in 1995.

Personal: Born Nov. 9, 1979 in Wheat Ridge, Colo., she is the daughter of Patricia and Jack Swanzy of Lakewood. She has an older brother, Sean, who is a 2000 Colorado State graduate.

In The Classroom: Swanzy is a double kinesiology and advertising major at Colorado. She was one of just 12 student-athletes to earn a 4.0 grade point average in the spring of 2000, and one of just three sophomores (academically) to do so. She spent the 2000 season on the Dean's List with a 3.507 and barely missed repeating the distinction with a 3.393 in the spring of '01. She will carry a 3.502 cumulative into her senior year.
