SENIOR (2018): Watson played in net for seven of Colorado’s eight shutouts this season. She recorded her first-career solo shutout in CU’s 4-0 win over UTSA. She also started in CU’s 0-0 draw against Colorado State. She appeared in all six shutouts in the non-conference season. Held opponents scoreless for her first 338:42 to start the season, not allowing her first goal until Denver’s goal. Had career-highs in games played (10) saves (22) and minutes (495:00). Finished the season with a .856 save percentage, allowing four goals. Wrapped up her career with three wins, 52 saves, a .743 save percentage and a 1.13 goals against average.
 
JUNIOR (2017): Watson helped CU reach the second round of the NCAA Tournament and break school records for shutouts (14) and goals-against average (0.61). A team captain, she played in eight matches as a reserve goalkeeper, posting a 0.73 GAA and .786 save percentage. In 371 minutes of action, she allowed just three goals and made 11 saves, posting a 2-0-1 record. She was also a part of five of the team’s shutouts. Watson came off the bench to play the final 65 minutes of a scoreless draw at Colorado State on Aug. 18, making two saves. She also played the entire second half of a 1-0 overtime win against Colorado College on Aug. 20, making a pair of saves to earn her first career victory. Watson played a clean 45 minutes in the second half of a 2-0 win at UTSA on Sept. 10 to earn her second career win. She also stopped two shots in 45 minutes of a 3-0 win over Arizona State on Oct. 19. Watson was named Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention with a 3.16 GPA.
 
SOPHOMORE (2016): Watson helped CU reach the NCAA Tournament and finish second in the Pac-12. She saw action in five matches with two starts at goalkeeper, recording a 0-1-0 record, 1.44 goals-against average and .769 save percentage. She had 10 saves and allowed just three goals in 187:47. Watson made two saves in the second half to combine with Jalen Tompkins for a 2-0 shutout in a season-opening win at Air Force on Aug. 19. She had a season-high four saves, while playing the entire second half of a 4-1 win against Iowa on Sept. 11. Watson also had two saves and did not allow a goal in 22 minutes of action against eventual national champion Southern California on Oct. 30.
 
REDSHIRT FRESHMAN (2015): Watson saw action in six matches and started four as a goalkeeper. She posted a 1.89 goals-against average and .529 save percentage with nine save in 380 minutes of action. She led CU to a 3-0 shutout, playing all 45 minutes of the second half against Colorado College on Aug. 23, but did not face any shots on goal. Her first save came in the second half of a 4-0 win against New Mexico on Aug. 30. Watson then guided the Buffs to a 1-1 draw with No. 19 Washington on Oct. 9 with a season-high four saves.
 
FRESHMAN (2014): Watson redshirted and did not compete.

HIGH SCHOOL: Watson was a multi-sport star at Blue Valley Northwest. In soccer, she was a three-year letter-winner, helping the Huskies to a 24-9-4 record in her sophomore and junior seasons and the 2013 state and regional championships. She also played basketball (a three-year letter-winner as a guard), volleyball (helping the team to the 2013 runner-up title and sub-state championship as a right side hitter) and softball (playing shortstop and second base, for which she was an honorable mention selection as a freshman). Watson was the first female athlete at BVNW to play three sports all four years. With the Sporting Valley soccer club, Watson earned a fourth place finish at the 2012 ECNL Nationals and fifth at the 2013 Nationals. Watson was also named to the 2012-13 ECNL All-Event Team.    

IN THE CLASSROOM: Watson is majoring in strategic communication with a focus in public relations and communication. She earned Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention as a junior and has a cumulative GPA of 3.16.

PERSONAL: Scout Hunter Watson was born on May 1, 1996 to parents Vincent and Rebecca Watson. Her nickname is Scooter. She has three older sisters: Madison, who played soccer at Wentworth Institute of Technology; Parker, who swam for the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee; and Aaron. As the youngest in her family, she has a jungle gym for a bedroom, consisting of a slide, rock wall, fireman’s pole and monkey bars. Watson enjoys singing (though she says she’s not very good), playing sports and trying to make people laugh. Watson volunteers for the Special Olympics. She chose Colorado because it was the best opportunity to play collegiate soccer and the university has a great broadcast program. She is interested in sports broadcasting, communications and the process of creating a story.
