SENIOR (2012): Marshall played in all 20 of the team's games, making 17 starts. She contributed three important assists and scored one goal. Her three assists ranked her second on the team and placed her in a five-way tie for eighth place all-time among CU seniors. Her first assist was on the game-winning goal against Wright State (2-1). She also helped the Buffs score against the defending NCAA Champions Stanford (1-2), and contributed her third assist in the CU's 3-0 win over Arizona, helping the team to back-to-back Pac-12 road victories. Marshall found the back of the net in her final game as a Buffalo, rebounding the ball in the second minute of CU's 1-1 double overtime draw against Utah.

JUNIOR (2011): She played in all 19 games, starting 14 and logging a total of 1,043 minutes. She began the season with an assist in CU's 3-0 win against Northern Colorado in the Colorado Cup. She hit the game-winner on September 18 against California State University Baskerfield (2-1).  Five of her 18 shots were on goal.  

SOPHOMORE (2010): Marshall was one of four players to score three goals in 2010, leading the team in that category. She led the sophomore class and ranked fifth overall on the team with six points (all from those three goals). She played in 17 matches logging one start. She attempted 14 shots with half of those on goal. She started scoring quickly in 2010 recording a goal in CU's home opener against Wyoming, a 2-1 win. Her last two goals of the season came in back-to-back conference contests. She scored CU's first goal in the 3-1 win over Iowa State and she scored CU's final goal at Oklahoma State when the Buffs fell 3-2.

FRESHMAN (2009): Marshall played in 17 of CU's 19 games and started one of them. She scored her first career goal in CU's 2-1 loss against Oregon in the final game of the Colorado Soccer Classic.

HIGH SCHOOL: Marshall was a four-year letterwinner for Skyline High School. Prior to her senior campaign, Marshall had already scored 29 goals and dished out 11 assists and was the leading scorer on the team as a sophomore and junior.  As a team captain, Marshall was a three-time All-Conference selection and was named Newcomer of the Year as a freshman, Offensive Player of the Year as a sophomore and Offensive Most Valuable Player as a junior.  Marshall played club ball for the Colorado Storm and has significant experience at the Olympic Development Program level. A member of the Colorado State ODP team since 2005, Marshall has seen action at the regional and national camp level. Also an accomplished 3v3 soccer player, Marshall has advanced to nationals in Disney World five years in a row. A dual sport athlete, Marshall also lettered two years in track at Skyline, specializing in the 100-meter and 200-meter, and participated at the state meet in 2007. She also was a two-time recipient of the Academic Renaissance award in high school for maintaining a 3.70 GPA or higher.

IN THE CLASSROOM: Marshall majors in communication.

PERSONAL: Shayelyn Louise Marshall was born on April 17, 1991 and is the daughter of Mike and Kelly Marshall.  Her older sister, Nikki, currently holds the record as all-time leading scorer for CU and was drafted into the WPS in 2010 by the Washington Freedom and currently plays for the Boston Breakers.  Her great-grandfather, Manis Donohoo, played football at Drake University.  In her spare time, she enjoys snowboarding, waterskiing, camping and playing golf.
