Cox was voted team MVP by her peers based on this effort. Her 133 saves on the season included a school-record 18 on Sept. 20 at Massachusetts.
Hartford: Had 2.83 goals against average in 1996, seeing action in seven games (five starts) for the Lady Hawks. In her career at Hartford, she allowed just 1.72 goals per game, and established an impressive .762 save percentage. She also had three solo and four shared shutouts, and sported a 2-4-2 record as a Hawk. She suffered a concussion against Connecticut early in the season in 1995 which cut her freshman year short. She was twice selected America East Player of the Week in 1995.
High School: As a prep, her teams won the Canadian National Championship four times and the Ontario Cup six times. She was a three-sport athlete in high school, as she also played basketball and volleyball.
