2019-2020 (Sophomore): Started the season ranked 65th as an individual and 53rd in doubles ... Finished the fall with a 7-7 record that included eight matches against ranked individuals ... Was the runner-up in the Mountain Regional Championship ... Upset the No.5 and No.38-ranked pair in the ITA All-American Championships ... After a busy fall Nayar suffered from injury, competing in only seven dual matches ... Went 8-11 in singles play with a 2-4 dual record ... Competed against seven nationally ranked players ... Finished 8-8 in doubles with a 2-5 dual record ... Competed against four nationally-ranked teams with a pair of wins.
2019 (Freshman): Her overall singles record was 13-9 where she was in the No.1 spot for singles and No.2 spot for doubles. She won a point against the No.38-ranked player in the nation against No.28 Washington State, setting the team up for a 4-3 upset.. She did more of the same against No.33-ranked opponent for California. Her doubles record was 11-12 with critical points coming from matches against Washington State, Oregon, and No.48-ranked Utah.She jumped around the rankings after her upset against Washington State, finishing the season as the 101st ranked player in the nation with a highest ranking of 89.
HIGH SCHOOL: Nayar has had a highest ranking in ITF juniors of 324 ... She competed in the 2018 Junior Australian Open and has a Grade 4 ITF Juniors Tournament win at the ITF Perlis Junior Championship ... She made it to the semifinals in the Mapei Gold Coast Junior International tournament and has a doubles final loss in the Queensland Junior Championships ... won two Gold Australian Money Tournaments back-to-back after being injured.
"Sara is an accomplished and experienced junior player and will definitely add us on court value from the get go," said Steinberg. "Her best tennis is ahead of her, and I think joining a team and playing for a program other than yourself will help her find her maximum. She is a hard worker and a great fighter on the court. I am excited to get to watch her compete for us."

PERSONAL: Nayar was born in Malaysia and is the daughter of Murali Nayar and Swinder Grewal ... She has two siblings, Uma and Anja.
