As a Senior in 2015
Austin finished her career with the Buffs on an outstanding note, earning AVCA honorable mention All-American, AVCA All-Pacific South Region and All-Pac-12 honors. She recorded 498 kills, 206 digs and 81 blocks while hitting .260. One of three captains, she ranked fifth in the Pac-12, 47th in the NCAA, in kills per set (4.05) and was fifth in the league in points, 46th in the NCAA, with 4.53. A Preseason All-Pac-12 selection, Austin recorded 20 or more kills in seven matches and tallied double-digit kills in all but three matches. She hit a career-high 27 kills against Oregon State (10/30) while attacking at a .414 clip. In a five-set contest against then-top-ranked USC, Austin hammered 21 kills on 70 swings, the most attacks by a Buff since 2010. Austin earned her first Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week award after guiding the Buffs to a pair of wins at home against Arizona State (11/12) and Arizona (11/14). She had 22 kills (.385 hitting percentage) against ASU and followed up with 15 (.438) against UA. She was named to the Omni Hotels Colorado Volleyball Classic and Rice Adidas Invitational All-Tournament Teams. During the season, Austin became the 14th Buff to reach 1,000 career kills. She set the CU rally scoring era career kills record with 1,443 and ranks fourth on the all-time list. Austin is also second in attacks (3,711) for the rally scoring era and is seventh all-time. 

As a Junior in 2014
Austin saw limited action during the non-conference part of the season due to injury, but really came on strong in the Pac-12 season to earn all-conference recognition. She saw time in 27 matches and started in 12. Over the course of the season, Austin hammered 303 kills, which was second on the team, while hitting .230. She recorded 20 kills in three matches, starting with 22 against Arizona State on Oct. 3. Austin also had 20 versus California (10/29) and a career-high 26 against Oregon State (11/26) when she recorded her first career double-double with 10 digs. Austin tallied her second double-double in the following match, posting 14 kills and a career-best 14 digs. She finished the season with 59 digs and 58 blocks for 338.5 points.
 
As a Sophomore in 2013
Austin continued to be an offensive weapon during the 2013 season. She started in 19 of 32 matches and missed only one match the entire season. Austin finished second on the team in kills (278) and points (303.5) and had 15 matches with double-digit scoring figures. One of her best performances came against Oregon (11/24) where she tallied 20 kills and 23.0 points, both career-highs. Austin was named to the Baylor Invitational All-Tournament Team during nonconference play and finished the season with 734 attacks, 74 digs and 42 blocks.   
 
As a Freshman in 2012
Austin started in 31 of 32 matches for the Buffs; helping them to a 14-18 overall record during her freshman campaign. She led the team with 364 kills (3.14 kills per set) and also led CU in kills in 18 matches. She had 19 matches with 10 or more kills and eight matches with 15 or more kills. Austin hammered a career-high of 19 kills in a four-set loss to No. 2 Stanford (11/21). Twice before that match she had recorded 18 kills; once against Oregon State (10/28) and again versus Arizona (11/16).  Austin also recorded a season-best hitting percentage of .325 in the match against Arizona and against OSU she collected a team-best 22.0 points. She picked up a career-best nine digs in a five-set thriller against Air Force (9/13) and put up five blocks twice; once against CSU Bakersfield (9/15) and Utah (9/19). During the season she collected many honors. She was named the MVP of the Sam Houston State Invitational, her first tournament with the Buffs, and was tabbed the CU Athlete of the Week on four occasions; tying the second most in school history. Austin was also selected to the Pac-12 All-Freshman honorable mention team and picked up the Buffs’ Most Improved Player award for the 2012 season. She also added 140 digs and 44 blocks on the year.

During the summer of 2013, Austin was a member of the BIP/USA Development Team which competed in China.

High School 
Austin was named a top-25 volleyball player in the 2012 class by ESPN and has earned a No. 26 ranking nationally by PrepVolleyball.com. As a senior Austin earned numerous other honors as a senior, including Volleyball Magazine/Rox Girls' Fab 50 selection, AVCA 2011-12 Under Armour Second Team All-American, 2011 Greater Houston Coaches Association/Vype Magazine Top 36, Cypress Falls High School MVP and Texas 17-5A First Team All-District. Alexis was named the Spring Branch Tournament most valuable hitter and earned all-tournament team honors at the Cypress Fair ISU Tournament.

As a junior Austin received numerous honors. She was named the MVP and Offensive Player of the Year for Cypress Falls High School. She set the school and district record for blocks in 2010 and was tabbed to the 17-5A First Team All-District. She is also a stellar student as she was named to the academic all-district team in 2009 and 2010.

During the summer of 2011 Austin was selected to compete for the U.S. Girls’ Youth National Team that competed at the FIVB Girls’ Youth World Championships in Turkey. In 2010 she was named to the U.S. Girls’ Youth National A2 Team and participated in the USA Volleyball High Performance Championships. Austin played her club career with Thunder VBC in Kingwood, Texas where she was coached by Marion Chlebana. 

She was a two-sport athlete at CFHS, also competing in track and field. Austin was the 2011 MVP in track and a regional championship qualifier in both the high jump and triple jump. She is the CFHS long jump record holder. Austin was recruited by Nebraska, Florida, Oregon, Georgia Tech, Wisconsin, Colorado State, Houston, Rice, Baylor, Miami (Fla.), Tennessee, Arkansas, West Virginia, Virginia, Pittsburgh and Texas A&M before committing to CU. She chose Colorado because of its academics and the chemistry with the team and coaches.

Personal  
Alexis Brianna Austin was born on April 21, 1994 and is the daughter of Anthony Austin and Shelia Teel-Austin. Her father played football for the University of Houston and her mother played basketball at Dillard University. She has two older siblings, Jalston Teel and Nikita Nicholas. Austin enjoys hanging out with family and friends and listening to music.

Academics  
Austin is a communication major.
