As a Senior in 2011

One of four returning starters, Santos tied with sophomore Nikki Lindow in leading the Buffs in blocks per set (.77). Santos appeared in all but two matches on the season. She had an impressive start to the year and was awarded CU's Athlete of the Week (8/30) for her performance in the season opening weekend. She had five kills on 12 errorless attacks and hit a noteworthy .471 hitting efficiency against UNLV (8/26) Santos had five kills and posted seven blocks in the following match against UC Davis (8/26) and capped off the weekend with a season-best 13 kills and seven blocks against Northern Colorado (8/28). The next week, she posted a career high 12 blocks (one solo, 11 assists) against St. John's (9/11).  Santos finished the season second on the team with 71 total blocks (nine solo, 62 assists). She boasts a career total 307 kills, a .249 hitting percentage, 67 digs and 135 blocks (21 solo, 114 assists).

              

As a Junior in 2010

One of three Colorado captains for the 2010 season, Santos proved to be a leader in her first year with the Buffs.  Having played in all of Colorado's 26 matches, Santos made her Colorado debut in the Buffs' season opener against Furman (8/27).  She recorded double-digit kills in an impressive seven matches this season, recording a career-high 15 kills twice, against Montana (9/4) and Kansas State (9/22).  Santos led the Buffs with a .280 hitting percentage with 195 kills and 61 errors on 479 attacks.  Santos averaged 2.17 kills per set and ranked second among the team with 0.67 blocks per set. 

College (Cal Poly)

Santos came to CU after two seasons as a member of the Cal Poly Mustangs. Cal Poly recorded a record of 16-13 in 2008 and finished 9-20 in '09.  Santos played in 14 sets as a freshman and 54 sets as a sophomore. As a sophomore, she averaged 0.76 kills and 0.70 blocks per set. Santos' blocks per set average was fourth on the team.

High School 

The three-time All-Jefferson County League selection was named among prepvolleyball.com's 250 Senior Aces for the Class of 2008. She led the league in blocks and hitting percentage as a junior and senior and earned MVP honors both seasons. SHS won the league championship in 2006 and Santos was named all-state in the process. Santos was one of 30 players to be named to the 2008 U.S. Women's Junior A2 National Team and was a three-year participant with the USAV High Performance Program. She was a member of the Colorado Juniors club team.

Personal  

Anicia Santos was born on January 26, 1990. She is the daughter of Roque Santos and Christine Ebert-Santos of Frisco, Colo. Santos is the youngest of five children; her older siblings are Aurora, Carlos, Roberto and Roque Jr. She lists her hobbies as snowboarding and traveling. 

Academics  

Santos majored in neuroscience. She owned a GPA greater than 3.5 and was a three-time member of the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll and was an honorable mention All-Academic Pac-12 selection in 2011.
