Callie Webster in 2008
Callie Webster took over the libero duties last season and led the team in digs. She looks to have a banner senior season and work her way up the career digs list.
As a Junior in 2007
Webster stepped into the role of Colorado’s libero as a junior. She was one of two Buffs to play in all 109 games and 28 matches. On 16 occasions she recorded 15 or more digs and nine of those matches were 20 or more digs. Webster picked up a career-high 33 digs against Missouri (10/3) in five games. In doing so, she became the first Buff since 1995 to record 30 or more digs in a match. The 33 digs tied for fifth with Rachel Wacholder on CU’s all-time chart. Webster was named the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week for her performance in the match. Webster was also named to the CSU Hilton Classic All-Tournament team after 4.77 digs per game over the course of three matches. She finished the season by averaging 4.28 digs per game, which was fifth in the Big 12. Webster picked up 466 digs on the year, which put her second on the single season chart.
As a Sophomore in 2006
Webster played in every match for CU and earned nine starts. She made her debut against Denver (8/25) with three digs in two games. Webster picked up four digs and two assists against No. 5 Florida (9/3). She earned her first career start against Cincinnati (9/7). In an upset of No. 17 Missouri (9/13), she recorded seven digs. Webster picked up 11 digs against Oklahoma (930) and a season-high 17 versus Texas A&M (10/25). She was the libero against Texas (10/28) and recorded 25 digs in the three-game loss. In the five-game upset of No. 1 Nebraska, Webster added 11 digs in three games. She recorded 190 digs on the season, fourth for the Buffs.
At New Hampshire
Webster totaled a team-high 326 digs in her freshman season in 27 matches and 95 games played under head coach Jill Hirshinger. She collected almost a quarter of the Wildcats digs that season. She also added two kills, 14 assists and 21 aces. Webster posted 10 or more digs 16 times and 20 or more digs on four occasions. She registered a career-high 32 digs, which broke the school record for digs in a four-game match, in her final contest at UNH against Stony Brook on Nov. 11, 2005.
High School
Webster was a four-year letterwinner in volleyball and three-year letterwinner in softball at Mercer Island High School. She was a First-Team All-Conference selection in 2003 and 2004, as well as All-State in her senior season (2004), as well as team captain. In 2002, Webster was a Second-Team All-Conference honoree. She was an all-conference selection in softball her junior and sophomore seasons.
Personal
Born Callie RaeAnn Webster on March 17, 1987 in Bellevue, Wash. She is the daughter of Kenneth and Carrie Webster of Mercer Island, Wash. She has one older brother, Travis, who is 26. Webster lists wakeboarding, being with friends and traveling as her hobbies. She has traveled to 10 countries and 30 states and loves road trips. Webster transferred to Colorado because of the location and the campus.
Academics
Webster is majoring in Psychology at Colorado. She recorded a 3.6 GPA during the 2008 spring semester. She was a member of the honor roll in high school her freshman and sophomore years.
