As a Sophomore in 2013
Keoho saw action in one match during the 2013 season against Baylor (9/14).
As a Freshman in 2012
Keoho earned a starting role for the Buffs as a freshman. She started off as a defensive specialist and quickly earned the spot as the team’s libero. Keoho had 13 of the 32 matches with at least 10 or more digs and recorded a season-best 21 in a five-set come-from-behind win against Arizona State (10/12). Her 299 digs led the Buffs during the season and 229 of those came in Pac-12 play. Keoho didn’t just play defense, but also provided a spark of energy on the court for CU. She also recorded 53 assists and seven aces in 2012.
High School
Keoho paced her high school team to win back-to-back state championships her sophomore and junior seasons. Keoho was named an all-state honorable mention selection and to the state Division I All-Tournament Team as a sophomore and senior. As a junior, she was named to the Honolulu Star’s Top 15 list and was an INL Div I first team selection. As a senior she helped her high school return to the state championship match for a third consecutive year where they emerged with a second-place finish. Keoho has been named to the AVCA All-American Watch List and to the PrepVolleyball.com’s Senior Aces top 150.
She has been successful at the club volleyball level as well. She started her club career playing for Debbie Yee at Jammers Volleyball Club. This past summer, her new club team, Imi’Ike, placed third at the USAV Junior Nationals. She has been a part of USA Volleyball’s High Performance program for many years. In 2010, she was named to the USA Girls’ Youth National Training Team and helped her team to a third-place finish at the USAV High Performance Championships where she was named to the all-tournament team and was named the best digger. Keoho was also recruited by Notre Dame, North Carolina, Marquette and Texas A&M.
Personal
Chelsey Hokulani Hichiko Keoho was born on September 9, 1994 and is the daughter of Lance Keoho and Paula Antoque. Keoho has two siblings, Sierra and Kayla. She loves most outdoor activities such as surfing, beach call and learning different languages. Keoho speaks Japanese, Hawaiian, French and Spanish.
Academics
Keoho is double majoring in integrative physiology and communication. She recorded a 4.00 GPA in her first semester and currently owns a GPA greater than 3.50.
