Stevie Mussie joined the CU coaching staff in May, 2008. Mussie works primarily with the outside hitters and passing.

 

Mussie was an outside hitter at the University of Washington (2005-07) and the University of the Pacific (2003-04).

 

During the 2007 volleyball season, Mussie was named First Team All-Pac 10. She averaged 3.95 kills and 4.46 points per game, which was second on the team. Mussie led the Huskies in kills 12 times during the 2007 season.

 

She was named the Pac-10 Volleyball Player of the Week for Sept. 17-23. She recorded a season-best 27 kills and hit .310 against Oregon. On the week, she recorded a .343 hitting percentage, 47 kills (5.58 kpg) and 18 digs (2.25) while averaging 6.00 points per game.

 

She missed the 2005 season, the year UW won the NCAA Championship, after knee surgery.

 

In 2006, she was named the Seattle Regional Most Outstanding Player. Mussie played in all 34 matches and started in 30. She ranked second on the team with 3.62 kills per game, which was 10th in the league. Mussie also averaged 4.34 points per game, which was also second on the team.

 

Mussie played for two years at the University of the Pacific before transferring to UW. She was named to the All-Big West Conference Freshman Team in 2003 after recording 2.46 kills, 2.49 digs and 0.39 blocks per game. In 2004 she increased her numbers to 3.53 kills, 2.69 digs and 0.41 blocks per game.

 

A standout at Puyallup High School, Mussie was a four-year letterwinner on the volleyball team and also earned a pair of letters from the track team. She was named the 2002 Washington Gatorade Player of the Year and a 2003 Volleyball Magazine Fab 50 selection. Mussie earned All-South Puget South League first team honors as a junior and senior.

 

A native of Tacoma, Wash., Mussie earned a bachelor’s degree in Sociology at Washington. Her interests include traveling, shopping, horseback riding, and spending time with family and friends. Mussie is single and resides in Broomfield.
