As a Sophomore in 2012

Spencer played in seven sets (five matches) during the 2012 season. She recorded her first two career kills against Cal (9/22) and hit .667 with no errors on three attacks. Spencer had one dig against Texas Southern (8/24) and one ace against Howard (9/8).

As a Freshman in 2011

Spencer made her debut against UCLA (10/2), recording an ace at a crucial time in the match. Spencer also appeared in the Washington State match (11/18).

High School 

Spencer was a middle blocker and right side hitter at Fairview High School, coached by Brooke Simmons. As a junior she recorded 86 kills, 38 digs and 18 blocks for the FHS team that finished 13-9 overall. The Knights were 11-10 her senior season when she served as the captain. Spencer was also named the Knights' Most Valuable Offensive Player as a senior. She was a member of the Juggernaut 18-1 club team that was coached by Tom Paszko. Spencer was also recruited by Long Island and Emory.

Personal  

Kelsey Spencer was born on March 30, 1993 in Denver, Colo. She is the daughter of Sandy and Christie Spencer of Boulder, Colo. and has one sibling, Connor. Her cousin, Khyla Burrows, is a member of the CU Ski team. Spencer lists NCIS as her favorite TV show and loves to run at Red Rocks.

Academics  

Spencer is majoring in business and owns a 3.443 GPA. She was named to the Colorado High School Athletic Association (CHSAA) Academic First Team as a junior.
