As a Freshman in 2013
Lundin appeared in five matches for the Buffs during her freshman season. She made her collegiate debut against Stony Brook (9/6) where she recorded 21 assists, one kill and two digs. She had a career-high 39 assists against Rutgers (9/7) and also added a career-high seven digs, three attacks and one ace. She ended her freshman campaign with 88 assists, one ace and 14 digs.
High School
Lundin was a setter from Bishop Kelly High School, coached by Deborah King. The Knights advanced to the state tournament three straight years (2010-2012) and in 2012 they finished with a 24-9 record. The team also won districts twice during her tenure. As a senior and junior, Lundin was named a first-team all-conference selection, and a second-team selection as a sophomore. She was also named to the all-state team as a senior.
Lundin played seven seasons for Club Idaho and had strong showings last year in both AAU National Championships and USA Volleyball Junior National Qualifiers.
Personal
Makayla Lundin was born on June 14, 1995 in Elk Grove, Calif. She is the daughter of Evan and Nancy Lundin of Eagle, Idaho. Lundin is the youngest of six children in her family. Her brother Trent played football at Boise State from 2000-2003. She enjoys wakeboarding, snowboarding, shopping and traveling.
