George Hegamin

Offensive Line Coach

George Hegamin joined the Colorado Buffaloes football staff prior to the 2024 season as director of leadership and engagement for the football program before transitioning to the offensive line coaching staff in 2025.

Hegamin works with Colorado’s offensive line after an extensive playing and mentoring career that spans the NFL, player development and high school football. Prior to joining the Buffaloes, he worked with the NFL Players Association as senior manager of player services while also serving as an offensive line coach and instructor with elite football camps and combines, including the Under Armour National Combine and IMG Academy.

Before coming to Colorado, Hegamin coached at IMG Academy, serving as offensive line coach for the national team from 2019–20 and later as head coach of the post-graduate team in 2020. He also coached at Prime Prep Academy in 2012.

Hegamin played seven seasons in the National Football League after being selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the third round of the 1994 NFL Draft. He also played for the Philadelphia Eagles and Tampa Bay Buccaneers during his professional career.

Over his NFL career, Hegamin appeared in 64 games with 17 starts and was part of the Cowboys’ Super Bowl XXX championship team. He also earned All-World honors while playing for the Frankfurt Galaxy during the 1996 World League season.

Prior to his professional career, Hegamin played at North Carolina State, where he became a Freshman All-American and earned second-team All-ACC honors in 1992 after winning the starting right tackle job as a redshirt freshman.

A native of Camden, New Jersey, Hegamin attended Camden High School, where he earned all-state honors as a defensive tackle before transitioning to the offensive line in college.
