Kate Mattison joined the Colorado track and field program in August 2024 as the Assistant Distance Coach and Recruiting Coordinator.
Before arriving in Boulder, Mattison briefly served as the Assistant Cross Country Coach at the University of Tennessee. She began her collegiate coaching career at Western Carolina University, where she worked as the Distance Graduate Assistant Coach from June 2023 to May 2024.
A standout student-athlete at Western Carolina, Mattison left a lasting mark on the program. She set five school records and became the first female athlete in program history to earn three Cross Country All-Conference honors. Over the course of her career, she was a five-time Southern Conference All-Conference selection across cross country and track & field.
