- On his senior night, Sanders, who was announced as the winner of the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award on Friday, finished 34-for-41 for 438 yards and five touchdowns.
- He completed five passes on a 65-yard drive, including a 10-yard scoring toss to Wester to give CU a 14-0 lead with 3:47 still to go in the first quarter.
- He then completed three passes in a row, wrapping up a 28-yard scoring drive with an 11-yard touchdown toss to Hunter for a 21-0 Colorado lead with 2:09 still left in the first quarter.
