COLORADO SOCCER LOSES TOUGH ONE TO BAYLOR

WACO, Texas - The University of Colorado soccer team lost 2-0 here today to the No.17 Baylor Bears. After going scoreless today, the Buffs now haven't scored in the last six games, going 0-5-1 in that span. The Buffs dropped to 4-11-3 on the season with a 1-5-2 Big 12 mark.

"If we don't score goals, we'll never win," head coach Austin Daniels said. "In some games we haven't created chances. Now, we're creating chances, we just can't finish. Everyone is giving great effort, but so much of it is belief. We'll continue to work on creating chances and finishing them."

Colorado's defense looked good, as the held one of the Big 12's best teams to just two goals. Senior keeper Sloan Cox had nine saves on the day to lead the Buffs' defense.

Susan Kiefer and Melissa Cartmel led the Buffs offensively with two shots apiece. Colorado's last goal came on Oct. 9 vs. Iowa State in a 2-1 loss. The Buffs haven't scored in 14 straight halves counting its overtime tie to Texas Tech last Friday.

Colorado will now return home for what will be the last two games of their season, as they now can't qualify for the Big 12 tournament. Kansas will visit Boulder on Friday, Oct. 30, at 3:00 p.m. and Missouri on Sunday, Nov. 1, at 1:00 p.m.

Sunday's match is CU's senior day, as Cox, Teri Fildey and Lauren Kulmann will be honored. Immediately following the game, the players will be on hand for autograph day and team posters will be given out free for the occasion. All home games are played at the Pleasant View Soccer Complex near the intersection of Foothills Parkway and the Diagonal Highway in North Boulder and admission is free.
