Pelle Leads Five Others In Double Figures

BOULDER - Junior forward Stephane Pelle (Yaounde, Cameroon) scored a team-high 19 points leading six Colorado players in double-figures as the Buffaloes routed visiting Kilsyth (Basketball Travelers), 114-66 in an exhibition men's basketball game, Friday evening at the Coors Events/Conference Center.

Seniors D.J. Harrison (Nashville, Tenn.) and Nick Mohr (Littleton, Colo.) each netted 15 points, while junior point-guard James Wright added 12 and six assists. The Buffs rounded out the double-figure scoring with 11 points each by sophomore Amadou Doumbouya (Conakry, Guinea) and freshman Jason Carter (Las Vegas, Nev.).

CU opened the first 20 minutes with a 48-29 lead and never relinquished its lead increasing its second half margin to 48 points at game's end.

Kilsyth (0-2) was led by Cory Schwab, who led all scorers with 24 points, while teammate LeRoy Womack added 14. The Australians were playing its second game in as many days and continue its eight-game tour of the western United States, Nov. 5 at Southwest Missouri State.

The Buffs played its entire 15-man roster and shot 43-for-81 for the game with a 53.1 percentage. On the boards, Doumbouya led all players with nine rebounds while Pelle added eight.

Colorado faces EA Sports All-Stars next Saturday, Nov. 10 at 2 p.m. to conclude its exhibition season. The Buffs open its 2000-2001 regular season at home against Arkansas-Pine Bluff at the CECC.
