SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - David Harrison had 22 points, 10 rebounds and four blocked shots as Colorado beat Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo 73-62 Wednesday night.
Harrison was 10-of-18 from the floor and had seven of his 10 rebounds on offense as he led the Buffaloes (2-1) past the Mustangs (1-1).
After trailing by 10 at halftime, Cal Poly got as close as four after a 3-pointer from Nick Enzweiler made the score 58-54 with 5:30 to play.
Colorado led 64-59 with two minutes to play but outscored the Mustangs 9-3 the rest of the way and made seven of nine free throws down the stretch.
Michel Morandais scored 16 for Colorado, and Blair Wilson had 14 points and 10 rebounds. Morandais became the 21st player in CU men's basketball history to score 1,000 points in his career . He converted a jumper with 10:18 in the first half to achieve his 1,001 point.
Varnie Dennis led Cal Poly with 19 points and seven rebounds, and Enzweiler had 15 points.
Colorado used a 25-5 run in the first half to turn a 16-11 deficit into a 36-21 lead with 3:21 to play.
