COLORADO VS. IDAHO STATE POST-GAME QUOTES

November 28, 2003 | Women's Basketball

Colorado Head Coach Ceal Barry

GENERAL: “I felt like this was one of our more consistent games from start to finish. We knew coming into the game that they shot really well from the three-point line after watching Boise State, so we wanted to get in on (Lindy Whitley) and force something else to happen. I felt like our team was pretty consistent. Offensively, we ran the floor pretty well and executed the triangle as well as we have all season.”

ON ISU 3 POINT BARRAGE: “It was a bit of a function of our offense. We were a little bit rushed and probably did not take the best shots. It was a result of some broken plays and we were taking some bad shots. That's what got their momentum going. That's what I feared about Idaho State, that they'd get on a roll and get a little streaky.”

ON FRONT LINE DEPTH: “With Cecily (Jones) and Anna (Nevovic) out, we are not as big up front we have got to position our (post players) better. It's something where we don't have a lot of depth on our front line and down the road that could be a problem for us.”

Idaho State Head Coach John Newlee

GENERAL: “We had too many turnovers and got off to a rocky start. I think that the nerves of playing a top-20 team took over at the start, but then we settled down at the end of the half. We are undersized and in the second half, they took it to us and exploited it. We need to play better defense tomorrow night. If you have defensive breakdowns against a top-20 team, you are going to pay for it.”

ON THE ALTITUDE: “I don't think that it affected us. It looked like it got to the two teams in the first game. They were huffing and puffing a bit. We come from over 5,000 feet, so we're used to playing in that.”
