DYNAMIC DUO LEAD BUFFS TO COORS CLASSIC TITLE

BOULDER, Colo. (AP) - Tera Bjorklund had 21 points and nine rebounds, leading No. 20 Colorado to a 74-63 victory over California on Saturday night in the championship game of the Coors Classic.
Idaho State beat Lehigh 95-52 in the consolation game.
Colorado (5-1) got 14 points from freshman Emily Waner and 13 apiece from Randie Wirt and Kate Fagan. Wirt added 10 rebounds.
Nihan Anaz scored 17 points to lead California (3-1), which committed 30 turnovers. LaTasha O'Keith had 15 points and Leigh Gregory added 14 points and eight rebounds.
The Buffaloes held a double-digit lead for much of the second half, but twice Cal cut the deficit to five points.
Eight straight points by California, including six by Anaz, trimmed the lead to 40-35 early in the second half, but Colorado built the lead back to 14.
The Bears' 12-3 run, which included five points each by Anaz and Gregory, made it 63-58 with 2:36 remaining. But Bjorklund promptly hit a layup on a feed from Veronica Johns-Richardson, Fagan made a 3-pointer and Johns-Richardson made two free throws for a 70-58 edge with 46 seconds left.
Bjorklund had 11 points in the first half as Colorado, using a 15-0 run, took a 36-25 halftime lead.
