LINCOLN, Neb. - Tera Bjorklund scored a game-high 22 points and Colorado shot 52 percent from the field as they finished off the regular season with a 70-56 win over Nebraska in Lincoln on Wednesday.
Greichaly Cepero finished with 14 points, hitting 5-of-7 shots from the floor, and added six rebounds and Laura Pilakowski scored nine points and grabbed eight rebounds for Nebraska.
Colorado (21-6, 11-5) shot 52 percent from the field, including 7-of-14 from three-point range to spoil "Senior Night" for the Nebraska (8-19, 1-15 in the Big 12) seniors.
Bjorkland hit her first five shots from the floor in the first half, helping Colorado jump out to an early 19-9 lead in the first 11 minutes.
The Huskers came right back with a 10-5 run cutting the Buffaloes lead to 24-19 on with 6:15 remaining in the half. A three pointer by Sabrina Scott, however, started an 11-3 run by Colorado to finish the half and boost their lead to 39-26.
The Huskers continued cut the Colorado deficit, closing to within 47-39 on a layup by Ceparo with just under 11 minutes left, but Kate Fagan scored nine of Colorado's next 13 points, including a pair of three-pointers, as the Buffs built a 17-point advantage, its largest lead of the game, at 60-43 and held on down the stretch for the victory.
Colorado will now travel to Dallas, Texas for the Big 12 Tournament, which was held the past couple of years in Kansas City, Mo. The Buffaloes clinched fourth place in the conference and will have a first round bye.
