April 15, 2003 | Women's Golf, Herbst Academic Center
Boulder - For maintaining cumulative grade point averages of 3.20 or greater, senior women's golfers Lynn Ann Moretto (sociology), Kimber Westbrook (kinesiology) and Robin Worthington (design studies), and sophomore Allison Rella (open option) were all named to the Academic All-Big 12 First Team, the league office announced Monday.
Moretto is making her second straight appearance on the first team, one of just six women's golfers in the history of the program to do so. Westbrook, Worthington and Rella are making their first appearance on the list. With four first-team appearances, the Buffs trailed only Nebraska who placed five student-athletes on the first team list. First team members are those who have maintained a 3.20 or better grade point average.
To qualify student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 60 percent of her team's scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers were not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and met all the criteria except percent of participation were also eligible.
Colorado, and the rest of the Big 12 membership, is prepping for the seventh annual Big 12 Championships, to be decided this Monday through Wednesday, April 21-23 at the Country Club of Missouri in Columbia.
