Morgan Sall Wins Athlete of Week

BOULDER-Junior Morgan Sall won her 10th consecutive match winning a pair of matches over the weekend helping the No. 37 Colorado women's tennis team to a 1-1 record. Sall, playing the No. 6 singles slot, defeated Kansas State's Andrea Cooper 6-4, 7-6 (2) on Saturday, then on Sunday, defeated Kansas' Luiza Loureiro 6-3, 7-6 (4). For her efforts she was named both the Big 12 Women's Tennis Player of the Week as well as CU's Athlete of the Week.

Sall, majoring in economics in Colorado's School of Arts and Sciences, is 11-2 at the No. 6 singles position (12-3 overall in the spring) and improved her junior season to an impressive 21-7 record.

Colorado's bottom half of the singles lineup (four through six) is a striking 29-5 this spring with Sall (11-2 at No. 6), sophomore Kendra Strandemo (10-2 at No. 4) and freshman Jessica Vanderdys (8-1 at No. 5).

The CU women are 10-6 on the season and one victory away from tying last year's 11 wins.
