COLORADO RUNS TO 78-48 ROUTE OF NORTHERN COLORADO

BOULDER, Colo. ? David Harrison scored 18 points to lead Colorado to a 78-48 win over Northern Colorado on Saturday night at the Coors Events Center.

The Buffs had no problem controlling the Bears. UNC (3-13) grabbed the first lead of the game, scoring the first basket, but Colorado took control with a 9-0 run over the next 5:05 and never looked back.
“Overall I think we were pretty patient,” head coach Ricardo Patton said. “I think we met our goals that we set for this game. We out-rebounded (39 to 30) and took care of the basketball.”
The Buffs would hold a 37-20 lead at the half, and allowed to Bears just 11 points in the first 10 minutes of the second half.
Colorado shot 50.7 percent from the floor, marking the fourth time they've eclipsed the 50-percent mark this season. Each of the four games were played at home and each resulted in a Buffalo victory.
Forward Lamar Harris grabbed a team-high nine rebounds for Colorado, eight of which were defensive. Coming into the game, Harris led the Big 12 with 6.27 defensive boards per game.
The Buffs were able to hold the bears to 29.8 percent shooting (14-of-47) allowing only seven field goals in each half.
Colorado has won two consecutive and looks to resume conference play against Nebraska on Jan. 14 in Lincoln. Tip time is set for 6:05 p.m.
“It feels good to win,” Harrison said. “It's a great feeling. Last season we had a saying ?fight for the feeling.' This year we took that feeling for granted, and we need to work for it. Nebraska is a good team, but we should beat them, and we will beat them.”
