BUFFS CHALK UP WIN AT NEBRASKA

January 14, 2004 | Men's Basketball

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - Michel Morandais scored 18 points to lead the Buffaloes as Colorado held Nebraska scoreless for five minutes late in the game and pulled out a 68-60 road win Wednesday night.

Nebraska (10-3, 0-2 Big 12) scored just five points in the last 6:53 of the game, including a 3-pointer with 19 seconds left and the game already decided.

Colorado (9-4, 1-1) had 14 points during that stretch, hitting 10 of 14 free throws to seal the win.

Nebraska led at the half 33-32 and led again several times throughout the second half. With 6:53 remaining, the Huskers led by one but never got any closer to winning.

Colorado took the lead for good with 5:34 left and opened up the largest lead of the game with 24 seconds left.

Joining Morandais in double figures for Colorado were Blair Wilson with 15 and Lamar Harris with 12.

Nate Johnson and John Turek had 13 each to lead Nebraska. Brian Conklin had 11 and Andrew Drevo finished with 10.
