The Buffaloes, ranked 25th in the latest AVCA/USA Today/CSTV Top 25 poll, claim their second-straight match, moving to 8-4 overall and 3-2 in the Big 12. Texas Tech drops to 6-5 overall, 2-3 in league play.
Juniors Maragda Santillana and Allie Griffin have led CU in kills all season, and Wednesday was no different. The duo each had 14 kills while showing a little defensive flavor as well.
Texas Tech's Kelly Johnson led all with players with 16 kills. CU hit .333 over the first two games and held the Raiders in the red (-.048) as the Buffs cruised through the first two games. Tech rebounded in game three with 18 kills and a .170 hitting percentage while CU fell down to .158. The Buffs regrouped early in game four, sprinting out to a 5-1 lead and never trailed.
Sophomore Lara Bossow had eight kills and seven blocks for the Buffs while setter Ashley Nu'u had 35 assists, four kills and three digs.
