BUFFS DROP CLOSE ONE, 65-60, TO KANSAS

January 25, 2005 | Women's Basketball

BOULDER, Colo. -- Jackie McFarland posted her fourth career double-double, 13 points and 11 rebounds, but Colorado's comeback bid fell short as they dropped a 65-60 decision to Kansas, Tuesday night at the Coors Event Center.

Trailing by one at the half the Buffs fought valiantly but were brought down by the shooting of Erica Hallman, 18 points, and Crystal Kemp, 15 points and 15 boards, for Kansas (9-8, 2-4 Big 12).

McFarland's points were matched by teammate Jasmina Ilic with Anna Nedovic providing Colorado (8-9, 1-5 Big 12) with 12 more points and eight rebounds.

Up next for the Buffaloes is Kansas State who come into Boulder for a noon tip-off at the Coors Event Center.
